Name: Marleen Marie Maijvis
Profession: Full-time fashion student at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, part-time sales assistant at Filippa K and part-time model at Elite.
My life is.. Adventurous and moving – I’m constantly trying to find out the balance between work, friends, family, the boyfriend, sleep and sports. At the moment I’m going to school 5 days a week and in the weekend I work at Filippa K. In between I try to do some modeling. Yes, I’m crazy but also a young, ambitious, creative and working for my goals. Focused at all times but there is always room for humor and love.
Currently listening to: I always start my day off with a dance battle on Beyoncé’s flawless to make sure I survive the day. For the rest of the day it depends on my mood. My latest favorite is Beautiful People by Wiz Khalifa and Sia, a little Good Lovin’ and also FourFiveSeconds by Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney is a pretty good one at the moment, especially the pretty awesome video that comes with it.
Love the smell of... Flowers, spring, sea, perfume and good food.
What’s the first thing about a man that catches your attention? His style, if a man has a good sense of style and a good pair of shoes. Sorry, I am a fashion student.. Furthermore his humor and ambitions, I couldn’t live with a man without a sense of humor.
What interests you? Traveling the world and its nature. The history and stories of different countries, cultures and people. Textiles make me go crazy. Magazines, art direction, interior and fashion styling.
What was your ultimate happiness 10 years ago and today? 10 years ago: Eating ice cream. Today: Eating ice cream (with loved ones on a perfect summer day.)
I always bring my... Lip balm, phone, a bottle of water, sunglasses, my agenda, humor, honesty and my eyebrows.
Favorite hangouts... #1 without a doubt my bed. And my parents' house, it always feels like a holiday away from all the stress.
Guilty pleasure... A lot of ice cream and chocolate.
5 things I can’t live without... Sun; because I am allergic to cold. Love; from my friends and family; because it's a primary need. Music; because it makes life so much better. Food; just because. The ability to learn, travel and explore; because the world has so much more to offer than I already know.
